DrayTek offered three upgrade firmware ways for users. The first way is to upgrade locally by the Firmware Upgrade Utility that DrayTek provides. The second way is to upgrade remotely by FTP client. The third way is to upgrade by Vigor Router's Web UI. 1. Upgrade Firmware by Firmware Upgrade Utility A. Install Router Tools on one computer that connects to Vigor Router's LAN port. B. Make sure the computer can ping Vigor's LAN IP. ( Default IP is 192.168.1.1 ) C. Run Router Tools > Firmware Upgrade Utility. D. Input Vigor's LAN IP manually or use the . . .button to select. E. Indicate the firmware location. Note : There are two firmware types. The .rst firmware format will make the configurations be back to default settings after upgrading firmware. The .all firmware format will remain the former configurations after upgrading firmware. F. Input the Password if you've set one then click Send.  G. There is a bar showing the upgrading process.  H. When the firmware upgrade is successful, the following window will pop up.  If you meet 'Request Timeout. Transfer Abort ! ' message, please check if the connection between the computer and the Vigor is active. If you meet ' Incorrect/No file name. Transfer Abort ! ' message, please check if the firmware you download is the correct one for your Vigor.   2. Upgrade Firmware remotely by FTP. Please refer to the How to upgrade firmware of Vigor Router remotely ? 3. Upgrade Firmware remotely by Vigor Web UI. Only some new Vigor models ( Such as Vigor2910, Vigor2930, Vigor2950, Vigor2820, VigorPro 5300, VigorPro 5500 and above models ) support the new firmware upgrade way. [ For example : Vigor2820 ] A. Go to System Maintenance >> Firmware Upgrade page. B. Click Browse button to select the firmware location. C. Click upgrade to start the upgrading.  D. Do not interrupt the connection during the firmware upgrading process. It'll take some minutes.  E. When the firmware is upgraded successfully, the following page will display. Please click the Restart button to restart Vigor.  |
